Sadly due to the newest postage price increase we have had to raise our flat rate shipping prices for the first time in 5 years. The USPS has changed the way they rate first class packages to a zone system and the cost has gone up substantially. Also Fedex and UPS which are who our shipping supplies suppliers use have had a 5% increase this month alone. On our smallest orders now Paypal fees and packing supplies are using much of our old rate of $3.50 before we even paid for postage.
We have implemented a rate of $5 flat for now. I know many people order just a few bases at a time and that will be too much for orders like that but we have no choice.
Another change due to the Supreme courts decision last June to allow states to set internet sales taxes, commonly known as nexus taxing, we will begin charging sales tax where we are required.
We realize that these changes will negatively effect our business and will not be pleasant for our customers but it is essentially out of our hands.
Below is a breakdown of the most recent shipping increases by USPS, there have been 3 others since we set our flat rate that we just ate.
0 – 4.0 oz packages will now cost from $2.66 to $3.09 depending on zone
4.1 – 8.0 oz packages will now cost from $3.18 to $3.63 depending on zone
8.1 – 12.0 oz pages will now cost from $3.82 to $4.33 depending on zone
12.1 – 15.99 oz pages will now cost from $4.94 to $5.53 pending on zone
